iOS 8 and Yosemite, Apple’s Operating System for mobile platforms and computers respectively is going to be launched in the same day. This piece of information was shared by the reporters of 9to5Mac and they were of the opinion that they have come across this piece of news from an authentic source. We have already heard rumors that OS X and iOS 8 will be synced together so that Apple users find it easy to share data. So the news that iOS 8 and Yosemite would not released on the same day has raised many eyebrows. However, there are many reasons as to why such a policy will be followed:
According the latest report, iOS 8 will be released in September, 2014 and the OS X Yosemite will be launched in the coming month. They also stated to sync Apple’s OS X with iOS 8, developers require extra information from the iOS team. Therefore, it is expected that Yosemite will be totally ready for use within one month iOS 8. Even last year we have seen that iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks releasing in a time gap of one month, so this year the same incident can recur.
Moreover, there is a lot of difference in the number of iOS and Mac owners. There are about 800 million iOS users in the world and in comparison with that only 80 million Mac owners. Therefore, there is no denying the fact that if iOS 8 and Mac owners are going to be synced together, it is going to be helpful for only a handful group of users. This also explains why Apple is not so keen for a joint launch of iOS 8 and OS X. Moreover, there is also a lot of confusion with regard to whether all versions of Mac OS X will be supporting the continuity feature of iOS or not.
Another fact that we cannot afford to ignore is that Apple has never launched its two versions of OS on the same day. It has always followed a policy of giving its two different operating systems due limelight by releasing it on different dates. It never wants the two to compete with each other.
In all probabilities, iOS 8 will be released along with Apple flagship smartphone iPhone6. We are quite sure that Apple is not going to release Macbook or other products along with iPhone 6. So Yosemite and iOS 8 are not going to get released together. Even iPads are not released along with iPhones though in both these gadgets the same mobile operating system is used.
We have also heard rumors about MacBook Pro and MacBook Air getting released in 2014, though we are not sure about the exact date. Therefore, it is quite obvious that Yosemite will be launched along with that. In all Mac products, the original OS X is integrated, thereby giving Apple an opportunity to earn more money.
Stay tuned for more news about iOS 8!!
